Hello,
I work IT support and relatively new to this community.
I have a user in my organization who is trying to use Descartes in Microstation Connect Edition. He has used it successfully in the past. Yesterday I ran some overdue updates to Microstation. Now when he goes to open a file there is an error on the bottom of the window:
"File dcartes contains an old version of the application DCARTES"It does this for every file and I am unclear if it is the files I am working with or if it is an issue with Microstation. Has anyone else encountered this before?
Thanks.
Did not work, ended up reimaging machine.
Thanks! I will check on this and give it a shot. Will follow up.
Is this a new install of Connect was the user running a different version of MicroStation before such as V8i ? Is it possible that the user had the standalone V8i version of Descartes for MicroStation? if so i would then uninstall that and then re-run the Connect installer and install Descartes that comes with Connect.

Yes, i did a reinstall and selected the Descartes checkbox. it said it is installed and have done this for several other users on my network without issue. There are no updates in the CONNECT Client either.
The Descartes install is bundled with the MicroStation installer. When you run the installer click the Configure button and turn on Descartes. If you do a quiet install from an image whoever builds your images will need to make sure it's included in the image.
