I have done this task, "Applying an Element Template to a SHP Reference File", in the older V8i edition. However, I cannot get it to work in CONNECT.
The workflow is posted here: "Applying an Element Template to a SHP Reference File" [Applying an Element Template to a SHP reference file - MicroStation Wiki - MicroStation - Bentley Communities]
Here is screen capture of my current MIcroStation session.
Element Templates are created. 'ZAI22SLP' is the blue line (drawing with the Place Line tool). 'YIA' is the green line (drawing with the Place Line tool). So, this proved the Element Templates are working as expected. However, when the same Element Templates are applied to the Reference Attachments, they do not apply the symbology settings. The dots (hard to see in the image as shown in this post) should be blue (ZAI22SLP) and the curved line should be green (YIA). Save Settings and restarting has no effect.
Any ideas?

Richard,
Can you please provide the exact steps how to reproduce your case along your test case files?
Thanks,
Hyung
Hyung Kim,
I was going back over my "end of 2022 unresolved issues" here (on BE Communities) and at my company and found that I never pursued this issue further. I did not pursue it at work, as we found a different way off approaching the original problem (and solved our need through that means). However, I would like to solve the secondary issue (Applying an Element Template to a SHP Reference File) is not working.
The exact 'step-by-step' is in the link shown in the original post. I did exactly those steps.
The zip file (221025 Element Template to a SHP Reference.zip) can be accessed and downloaded here:

I understand that you are doing this as a favor and if you don't have time, I understand that as will. I did another round of - very quick - testing on some other files and found the same issue exists.
