[MSCE] Terrain Model - How to adjust the Elevation of Contour Lines?

Question

Perhaps my question is silly, but I cannot find the workaround to config the beginning elevation of contour. It lets you to set Major and Minor Interval only. 
 
 Anyone knows the solution?

Anthony, 
 You could try the following as a workaround. 
 
 Select the terrain model. 
 Copy it vertically down by the desired base elevation interval distance. (In your example it was 0.700m) 
 While it is still selected, use the Reset Popup menu to pick Displayset Set to isolate the newly offset terrain model by temporarily hiding all other elements. 
 Enable the terrain model's contours and disable the triangles. 
 Use the Drop Element tool with Application Elements checked to drop the terrain element. This will drop the contours to linestrings. 
 Select all of the contour line strings and use the Add To Graphic Group tool to add them to a Named Group. (Give the group an appropriate name to such as Soil Nail contours Base Elev 0.700m) 
 Move the new group vertically up by the b ase elevation interval distance (0.700m) This moves the contours back to the correct elevations, 
 Use the Reset Popup menu to pick Displayset Clear to unhide all elements including the original terrain model. 
 
 This will give you a set of contour linestrings to use for your Soil Nail drawing that you can Snap to and use Construct Array Along Path tool to place the soil nails.

 Your Terrain symbology settings are located in your Element Templates. 
 
 The video below can explain contour setting adjustments (this is also for Terrains in Microstation, not just OpenRoads - note the video is for v8i but works the same in CONNECT):

I'm thinking you might be referring to old Terrain modelling tools that were available possibly in Triforma or ABD. The following discussions relating to this show you might be thinking of an Elevate Terrain tool that was previously available. I would not think this type of operation could be performed in MicroStation CONNECT Edition but may be something that could be achieved in OpenRoads or OpenBuilding. 
 Has the Terrain modelling feature been removed from recent updates? 
 Terrain model tool in XM version, where is it in AECOsim version?

The concept of base elevation used in Civil 3D is not something found elsewhere. Terrain contour annotation will span the entire range of the Contours from the minimum to maximum. 
 
 That Base elevation property is just something that limits how low the annotated contour elevations will go which isn't very useful in my opinion.

Contours are only one way to do this. 
 In Microstation, you can use thematic display styles to set ranges of elevation shading, slope shading, etc. If your terrain if this is what you are trying to do. Thematic display styles are also dynamic and update with your terrain.

The display style can shade and delineate elevations of your terrain, so you can effectively set a base elevation and get it to show whatever elevation at whatever interval you want and change it at any time.
