When creating a multiline (for example a wall build up) - is there a way to create a multiline with a hatch already embedded into the multiline? i.e Brick hatch, Insulation Hatch, Blockwork Hatch).
Raster line styles are not a fill. They are raster tiles repeated along the line. There are some delivered with MicroStation CONNECT you can experiment with. If you can get them to work in your multilines there is information in the help about creating raster custom line styles.

Rod does that work \act like the fill in multi-lines.
There is a major bug with the fill in multi lines.
I"ll use multiline with the background color 255 fill
This color will mask the geometry behind it.
But if you close the multline and later modify it, the fill goes rough.
As you can see below, it is outside of the multiline.
Like I used to color

What version of MicroStation are you using?
In CONNECT you can have Raster custom Line Styles. You could try using one of those line styles as the centerline of your multiline element.
I create linestyles for the fill
I rarely use patterns
this is great for Microstation, but not if you export to dwg because of the AutoCAD linestyle limitations
Fill is possible.
