Hi,
I simply placed a text along with an option "association with element enabled". (like i placed a text with association at the midpoint of the line). Whenever the line length is adjusted, with respect to association in midpoint, the text also positioned.
but if i wish to move the text somewhere else. still the association is taking with line midpoint. how can i disable the text association with any element.? and how can i still maintain element length (Filed properties)
Please guide me with possible solution to resolve this.
Thanks in advance.

Those are contradictory requirements. A text element must be associated with a host (in your case, the line element) in order to display its length.

Please confirm the version of MicroStation being used.
Have you tried the Key-In 'Drop Association' and identify the text, and then Move? Granted as Jon points out its no longer associated with the Line so if line is moved the Text does not.

Hi Carl, currently I am using MicroStation update 15 (Ver 10.15.02.11).
I tried your suggestion on using key-in options and "Drop-Association" command. it exactly fulfilled my quest. Thanks a lot.
Hi Jon, thank you for the response. it is little informative to me learning.
as its not associated I believe changes to the line length will not be reported ie the text does not update it is now just dumb text. I believe Jon implied this but you may not have fully understood the implication.
