MicroStation CONNECT Edition - Version 10.17.02.61
I use selection sets for various operations.
I miss being able to remove a single element by holding down the control key and picking it.
I know I can go to the Tool Settings dialog, extra steps.
Anyone know of a quick way to remove a single element from a selection set in Connect?
Could be a case of you wanting the selection tool to always start with single and new.I created a custom Element selection tool that uses the chain of Key-Inschoose element;powerselector single;powerselector mode new

Yes, using new selection set does behave better. But I often switch from "new" to "add". Perhaps I can always use "new" and simply modify how I use the command.
thanks!

To add elements it is also just to hit Ctrl and LeftMouseClick (aka.Datapoint)

Yes, I'm well versed in the command function, Just did not expect the change in behavior from v8i to Connect. Plus I have a multitude of work arounds for various bugs etc. with Connect.
Kind of surprised I never came across this solution by accident as I do switch back and forth between new and add mode.

I do not remember that this changed. When you hit the + in the Element Selection it always only allows to add elements. In all versions, right?

Likely because you're usually using 'New' setting. The New and Add (+) work the same, but the individual select (ctrl, pick) only works with 'New'. I switch between the 2 depending on what I'm doing.
