If you have to edit item properties you have to do it by opening each Item and change the value of each property
What if a property for number of items changes. How can you achieve a bulk change
Example:
A appliance Is of Type "A" and I need to change it to Type "B"
Or I need to repeatedly change a date property.
The "Find/Replace Text" Tool finds a Label showing the property all right. Then you need to doubleclick and edit the property in the "Edit Item" Tool
Would be nice to have a tool "Find/Replace Item Property Value".
Or is there a way to achieve this? Especially also if you need to do this throughout a lot of files/models
Hi,
If you use Explorer you can review your Item Types and also display the Details dialog. That dialog can be used to edit multiple properties.
You can also use Import/Export in the Item Types group to export you data to Excel. Make any updates and import the data again.

No. As Krister Surell wrote, it's possible to display (and access) all Items (of the same type) in Details dialog at once

I think it is simple task. One from possible workflows is:
An alternative workflow is to use Search functionality in Explorer to find only Items with specific value.

In my opinion there is no simple way how to do it in batch (but VBA macro can help).

Right Kirster, thank you.
I may have been mislead with my way of asking, mainly because I have the task to repeatedly edit the same items (properties of titleblocks, etc.) in several models/files. I thought a kind of find/replace item properties that you could easily repeat like tor plain text. The question came up as I saw that the item label was found by the find/replace text function
Thanks Jan, I thought along these lines (see my answer to Kirster)

I am not aware of any key-ins, designed to access and modify Items, attached to elements.
Although I like this idea, I think it's not simple task, because it always requires several steps.
On the other hand, Item Types API in VBA is not complicated, so when the modification process is standardized, it would be possible to create macro that does the same task with active model, so can be used e.g. in batch process.
