Hello,
Suddenly i can no longer reference in "r13" dwg's or even saveas to a dwg , it appears to have only affect me,
we are running v8i, 08.11.09.919 as well as Connect and ORD, i assume some dwgviewer has been corrupted
Karl, I would like to get a bit more information.
1. Are other users able to open that same file in V8i ? double check this.
2. Working on the DWG in Connect may have changed the version of DWG that the file is - looking at your DWG versions selected in Connect is newer than what what V8i supports.
My guess is that you worked on the file in Connect and when you saved it, the DWG option was set to a newer version and now V8i cannot recognize this newer version of the DWG. I think V8i can only open files up to 2016....
As a work around, open the file in Connect, go to the DWG save options and for DWG version, select the 2013 - 2017 option and do a save. Then try to open that file in V8i.

In v8i i cant saveas to dwg or reference in any dwg (r13) , Connect works file, all other users have no issues. we are not opening any older v8i project in Connect,
this is after a complete uninstall of realdwg 16 and MicroStation with a fresh install , I am running Civil3d 2023, all I can think is that is taking over the format somehow, about to uninstall autodesk
Maria i also tired this with default workspace same results.
Earlier on, Maria has asked about MS_REALDWG_VERSION, but I have yet to find an answer. This config var is mostly used by Civil3d users who have installed multiple versions of RealDWG and must select a version that matches Civil3d files they use. If you have this set but don't switch between RealDWG versions, you should remove it to prevent out dated value left in your setup.
Other config vars to check are MS_LIBRARY_PATH, MS_ADDINPATH, MS_ADDIN_DEPENDENCYPATH, all of which should contain correct path to RealDWG installation. Switching workspaces could potentially change these thus to stop RealDWG to be loaded. You may compare them to those on a computer that works so you may find differences.
When RealDWG installer works correct, it should put registry Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Bentley\RealDWG* to tell MicroStation where load RealDWG. If this registry is corrupted, RealDWG cannot be loaded.
Don i checked all those Vars, appears to be pointing to the RealDwg,
