I am using Microstation Connect Edition. I am working with Architect that still uses Microstation v7 software. When I had v8i software I was able to save a drawing back to v7. is there a way to do this in Connect?
I don't know of a way. I keep a version of v8i ss10 loaded because Connect still has certain bugs that can reek havoc.

Thanks. Yes, luckily I have version of v8i as well, and was able to save files back to v7. Would be really nice if we could do this with Connect Edition.
MicroStation v7 was replaced by MicroStation V8 in 2001. I'm not entirely surprised that Bentley phased out support for a 22-year old version of their software.

They've phased out v8i as well, but I'm guessing a lot of folks will continue to use that for quite a while. Connect is just bad, improvements are slow in coming.
Very true! We're still using V8i most of the time.
