[CE 10.17.02.61] Copy files while retaining call-out references

Say I have the following situation:
I have a 3D file from which a lot of section call-outs are generated that are referenced in multiple 2D files in Project A. Now when I start working on Project B there is a lot of overlap between the work done on Project A so I want to create a copy of the 3D file and its call-outs in the 2D files from Project A to Project B.
If I were to straight up make copies of the files in ProjectWise the references would still be pointing to the original file, requiring me to go through every 2D file and update the references to the call-outs manually.

Is there a way to either automatically update all of the references, or even make a copy of the files in such a way that the references are also automatically updated to the new copy?

Regards,
Remy

  • Maybe the packager can help. To make sure everything necessary is collected packager allows you to select all referenced files to copy from A to B. I have not tried regarding ProjectWise though. The references should anyway to be attached with the relative path option. Otherwise the Path is hardcoded as you noticed. I am not aware if there is a tool that allows to switch automatically. You would need to go through all attchments.
