Improving the resolution of a raster image

Hi guys,

I have captured an image in Microstation connect edition from bing. I noticed that, the captured image has poor resolution when imported as a raster. Is there any possibility to adjust the resolution of the raster image? Note kindly that, I had a look on the 'Raster Manager' but could not find any tool to improve the quality of the image.

Many thanks in advance,

Mamdouh

  • If you have a license to use MicroStation Descartes you can use the Merge command in Raster Manager to capture an area of the Bing Maps imagery and save it to an image file. You can specify any resolution, but the best you can get is the base resolution of the Bing imagery. If you exceed that resolution you are just creating excessively large images and gain no benefit.

If you choose to save to a geo-located format, the image can easily be attached in the correct geo-located position through the Raster Manager. You can also generate a sister file for use in positioning formats like .jpg images in the correct geo-location.

    NOTE:
I don't know if this violates any of the Bing Map Terms of Service, so you should verify that it is ok before.
