VBA interface error: could not find project or project file

VBA interface error: could not find project or project file

Cannot open Auto Table to register

  • Chandriki, it appears that you have recently used MicroStation PowerDraft, so I have moved your post to the MicroStation forum where a specialist should be able to assist.

It may help to provide more details for troubleshooting.

  • The VBA error in its basic form means that the specific module in the VBA cannot be found, either by a missing MVBA file or a missing module in the MVBA loaded files.

Auto-Table is a third party app. I would suggest reinstalling the app assuming it has an official install. It is possible that the VBA is using additional resources that need to be registered to the OS so that MicroStation can use it as designed.
Reach out to the company that makes that app for support. If MicroStation is not recognizing something is a miss, possibly incomplete installation or missing configuration variables to load the VBA.

  • The error message "MicroStation VBA interface error: could not find project or project file" can occur for a number of reasons, including:

    • The MicroStation VBA project file is missing or corrupt.
    • The MicroStation VBA project file is not registered with MicroStation.
    • The MicroStation VBA project file is not compatible with the version of MicroStation that you are using.
    • There is a problem with the MicroStation VBA environment.

To resolve this error, try the following steps:

    1. Verify that the MicroStation VBA project file is present and that it is not corrupt.
    2. Register the MicroStation VBA project file with MicroStation.
    3. Verify that the MicroStation VBA project file is compatible with the version of MicroStation that you are using.
    4. Repair or reinstall MicroStation.

If you are still unable to resolve the error you might consider contacting the company that produces the Auto-Table software, which appears to be AutoDesk, as they may have a solution.

  • Andrew, Could you link to a wiki, or explain the process for steps 2 & 3?

  • Hi Mary

As this question is related to a 3rd party product the questions should probably be asked from the company that produces this software. Also, questions of this nature should probably be asked in the MicroStation Programming forum if it is related to VBA code that might have been developed within your own company.
