Minimum line length definition

Hello,

I'm trying to build a parametric section for a retaining wall.

I have two parallel lines and I want to define a constraint between these lines so that line A will have a minimum length of line B.

Currently I tried doing so by using the minimum dialog box as you can see in the screenshots above. But when doing so, (I define the minimum value of line A as the length of line B) and after validating that the expression is ok - the model doesn't change.

Is there a solution to this problem?

Thanks in advance

Please confirm the version being used.

Could it be that the wrong Variable is assigned to the element? It may be more helpful to supply a copy of the file in this instance for review.

Using MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 17.2, I placed 2 lines in a file and assigned Dimensional constraints 'Bottom_stem_thickness' and 'Top_stem_thickness' to each.

I set the 'Top_stem_thickness' Variable to have an Active Value of 0.5

I set the Bottom_stem_thickness' Min Variable Definition to 'Top_stem_thickness' Active Value of 0.5

If I change the 'Bottom_stem_thickness' Active value to 0.2, there is no change as its below the value of 'Top_stem_thickness' (0.5)

If I change the 'Bottom_stem_thickness' Active value to 0.8, there is a change as its above the value of 'Top_stem_thickness' (0.5)

So all appears to be OK.

If you want both lines to be the same in length, but also have a Min length, one possibility may be to create another Variable lets call it 'Min_Length' with a Active Value 0.5. Then assign 'Min_Length' to both 'Top_stem_thickness' & 'Bottom_stem_thickness' as the Min Variable Definition. Then set the Expression 'Bottom_stem_thickness' for the 'Top_stem_thinkness' Variable
