I am looking for a way to display area measurements in my drawings using MicroStation V8i. I would also like to have the option to convert units of area measured (for example, if my working units are feet, the measure area command would display areas in square feet, but I need to convert these to acres for the project I'm working on).
There used to be an mdl application called atool.ma (or atools.ma, I can't remember), but I would imagine that it wouldn't work for V8i.
The measure area command in MicroStation measures the area, but doesn't seem to allow the user to place the number in the drawing, the result is only displayed in the tool box.
thanks,
Chris
To the best of my knowledge, ATOOLs is being updated for V8i (currently in "beta").
Have you looked at,or given any thought to using Fields for this task?
The resultant text will auto-update as the shape changes size and you can apply conversion factors during the creation of the field.

Is there a way to use this same procedure to place the length of lines. It will for 1 line at a time, but since the Info box shows **varies** when I have more then 1 line selected, I can't get it to work. I guess what I'm looking for is to be able to select all lines and arcs on a level, then have it place the total length of these elements. So somewhere in my drawing I would have something like:
Lanes lines = ###' Center lines = ###' EdgeYellow lines = ###'
Then when 1 changes it will keep track of that.
Make sense?

I have been using the Atools.ma for XM without any problems in v8i. What problems have others experienced?
