Issue when printing to a PDF and placed EXCEL table displays as a black rectangle.

Question

I was able to make a table in EXCEL and use the PLACE TABLE command to insert my table into my drawing. We use the black drawing background. The EXCEL table comes in with a white background with black table lines and red (in this illustration) text. When I go to PRINT then to Print or Print To PDF my created PDfs all display my EXCEL table as a black box.

I suspect your table background is actually a filled shape, and that fill is what is printing black. You text shows on top of it on the screen because they are different colors, but when you print, it's printing black text on a black shape, so all you see if the black. 
 Can you change the color of your table background to either true color white (0,0,0) or the Background color (BG on the standard MicroStation color table)?

 Alternatively go old school, dont use the place table, in excel select the table and use copy then in microstation use paste special and use imbedded, that way it stays part of the dgn and is editable only inside the dgn and the link is severed from the external excel file, I prefer this method as nobody outside the dgn file can mess with the table or delete the excel or move it and it wont effect the dgn also sending the dgn to client doesnt need the original excel file to accompany the dgn. It will print as intended, if you want a border then just trace an unfilled shape around the outside of the table in mstn with a desired weight. you may need to scale the table up based on desired text size.
