Changes to text using the align elements by edge tool won't save.

Hi all,

When using the "Align elements by Edge" tool to align multiple text items along a line, when I save and close the file and open it again, all the changes to the text using that tool revert back to the original position.

I'm new to microstation, is there something to do with the levels that is preventing me from making this change? The file is an existing drawing that I'm trying to update.

Thanks in advance

Tom

  • Yes fair enough.

I changed the justification on the text that I wanted to align. Once I aligned and saved it after making the change to the justification, it kept the changes.

    Thanks

  • ok great you found a  fix, but  it is  the best practice here to explain how you solved your problem yourself, why  because we all use this forum to search for  help for answers and  many times  your problem  may be what other have experienced  too and would benefit from your solution as  an answer to there problem.. As we  usually do a search here for a solution  before  we even post our problem.

  • Hi Lorys,

Thank you for and apologies in my late reply. I managed to to find a solution to the issue I was experiencing.

I appreciate the time and effort for responding to my request and will be sure to provide as much information as I can next time I experience any issues.

    Thanks again

  • Hi there Tommy and welcome to microstation,

first of all you need to tell us what version of microstation first, then we need screen shots  of  before and after and of what tool dialog  your doing, and upload an example  dgn would  also be  extremely helpful, dont  up load your sensitive data just make a new dgn  and  simulate  your conditions. then somebody here can analyze your  file and see if there are underlying problems or at least reproduce your problem.

Cad is such a huge  program with hundreds of  settings that its impossible to guess with any  level of  useful help for you without  specifics like I have mentioned.
