This was something Id looked into several years back, and asked help from Bentley who Id spoken with over the phone, but those assisting couldn't quite get things working as we needed.
Its been such a long time that I don't even remember the function that was then available on Microstation v8i
I think we used a spread sheet to first find and then replace the levels of object/s with a similar.. for example.
From this level "EP-EP-In_Running_Wiring-U-P" to "EP-EP-In_Running_Wiring-U-E" and thus keep attributes the same, only the level and colour to be changed.
Im trying to get this working again as it could have been very useful, and was thinking there has been quite a few years development since, there might be an obvious option Im just not aware of.?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated..!
Do you have an example .csv file to use as basis, Im not knowledgeable when it comes to scripting.!
The "New" icon will open you a brand new CSV to use. In that CSV is an icon in the "Level Mapping Table" that you can see in Leonard's post - that icon will bring over all of the levels of your current drawing (I believe) to the "Level" column so that you would only need to add your new level names to the "V8OutputLevel" column. Since this is managed through Excel, you can use Copy/Paste and Find/Replace if your level names are similar.
When you have made your edits to the CSV file, you save that, and can use it in your Save As/conversion process.
