Microstation CONNECT Print Organizer - Fonts not printing correctly

10.17.02.61

I have a file that is being printed with Print Organizer and the fonts are not printing properly. Using the normal Plot Dialog, the fonts are correct. I have verified the plot driver is the same in both. There is a design script being used but it is applied in both and I verified it is the same design script in both. One other factor, this is being printed from a sheet model.

Is this a known issue with Print Organizer?

For now, I have our users .creating the pdf for this sheet outside Print Organizer

  • Carl,

I have submitted 2 tickets for this issue. Initially, I submitted a ticket for the file I mention in this forum post. About a month later, we ran into this issue with a different client. Same issue. .rsc fonts do not plot correctly. I spoke with Bentley techs for both tickets. The only way to resolve the issue is to copy the font .rsc files to the local drive.

  • FWIW - Don't know if you have solved this issue on your end but I ran across your post looking for an answer to the same issue myself. Although the font we were using was a True Type, it was not installed on the computer and it seems that Print Organizer uses the windows fonts instead of any configured in the workspace, at least when it comes to True Type anyway. I am unsure what it does with Microstation fonts. I found the fonts in our workspace and installed them on the computer. That cleared up the issue and now the fonts show as expected on the prints generated by Print Organizer.

  • I was having this same issue. Custom fonts were not plotting correctly when using Print Organizer. It turns out that this is because the Print Organizer engine runs on a different configuration than your workspace. The MS_PLT_ENGINE_CMDLINE_ARGS variable did not fix the issue. In my case, our custom organization workspace was configured after Microstation installation and the Print Organizer engine was looking for the fonts in the default installation directory, while the custom fonts were in our custom organization directory. After reinstalling Microstation and configuring our custom Organization Workspace during installation, Print Organizer works as expected.

  • Yes, this is it. You do need the right workspace to locate the correct Font locations.
