I would like to edit a cell which is in my drawing, but I don't know how. I know what it's name is, but when I go to the cell library there is no cell with that name, so I am stuck.

for further discussion, it is important to know whether you want to edit cell instance(s) in particular model, or to change original cell definition in cell library. Also, to know whether the cell is shared cell or normal cell is important to provide exact answer.
As Carl Myhill wrote, in the latest MicroStation version it is possible to do a cell "in place editing" .
When you want to edit original cell in a cell library, you must know what library was used, because when cell is placed, it does not remember its origin (there is no link between placed cell and the library).

Hi Carl, It's a pitty MS doesn't say what the library name is where the cell came from. I guess I have to remember it better.
Without the newest version of MicroStation, and without the cell library, there are few other options to edit cells. A few edits are possible when the cell is left intact - text can be edited without dropping, and Fence Stretch can modify the dimensions of elements. But beyond that, I can't think of any other edits that can be done without dropping the cell.
