Hi. I have created a line style including a stroke and point. My issue is that the point style which is an 'x' is placing itself at the beginning, end and in the middle of the line. How do I get the 'x' not to be placed on the centre of the line?

Most likely the base stroke is no being applied to the point symbol.
When in the Point Editing section, click on each segment. If there is a point symbol associated with the segment, it will display in the point preview window. From what you describe, the segment with the X at its midpoint should indicate there is a symbol there which you can remove.
