How to Automatically Label several cells at Once using Item Type

Hi Bentley

Is it somehow possible to add labels with Item Type information on several cells at once?

I have created a text favorite with the item types and I am also able to add the labels one by one on all cells, but I could save a lot of time to do it automatically :-)

Best regards Louise

  • I'm thinking that it may depend on where these cells are located and whether they are coming from a Cell Library. If they are located in the Cell Library you could possibly think of adding this Item Type detail there and perform a global Replace Cells within your design file.

It would be quite helpful if you were able to provide an example design file and maybe some screen captures to show what you are trying to achieve. The version of MicroStation you're using would be useful as well.

  • Hi Andrew

I am using the newest version of MicroStation 2023

I have attached a .dgn file where you can see a utility project. All wells are inserted as cells and contains the same Item Types.

I would like to be able to insert labels on all cells at the same time.

If I insert the labels in the well cell library beforehand, the items are not filled out unfortunately
