Is there a setting that controls the size of the thumbnails? I understand that the thumbnail is generated from View 1. But even when I maximise the View, it doesn't seem to use all of the space available. See comparison with DWG.
Annoyingly, R*vit 's RFAs also produce better thumbnails OOTB.
I think I suspect Revit uses a Saved View to define the extents. This would allow the user to define an extents that better fits the square thumbnail space?
It would also allow the user to freeze the thumbnail as he will be using Ctrl-F quite often for other purposes.
Hi Dominic,
It is always a good idea to provide details of the MicroStation version number you're currently using as this can affect any answers provided to assist you.
Please use key-in VERSION to see the version no. in the MicroStation Message Center, or Help→About MicroStation in the backstage.
Opps.
I'm on OBD 10.1, which I think is based on Mstn 17.2.
When you need to browse a dgn file, it is possible to enable the preview pane from Explorer window and interact (zoom in/out) with the file preview:
I'm not sure if this works the same as in OBD, but in MicroStation the thumbnails for recent files can be managed by following the wiki below:
