It’s time Bentley updates the trim and extend tool.
if you use autocad or inventor you can sweep over a line or arc and you can have it trim to a element or extend. no snapping this element to the other element

I'm not aware that the Trim Multiple tool requires snapping, just manual clicking, not that I use the tool at all but a quick browse of the help file suggest that's how it operates.

The truth is, we already had the functionality (if I'm understanding your wish correctly), it was the Intellitrim Tool. I've never help back my animosity towards Bentley for removing the tool in Connect and replacing it with the Trim Multiple tool. Whoever made that decision is an absolute idiot in my book.
You cannot tell me that this:Is better than this:

Overlapping elements is probably not good practice (though it's not always avoidable) but selective use of level display, Display Sets or locking & unlocking of elements gets around any potential undesirable modification of nearby geometry (overlapping or not).

Who mentioned anything about scanning?

This sounds like absolute nonsense, Trimming or Extending has never caused instability of MicroStation, ever.
FWIW:
Trim Multiple has taken the place of IntelliTim. This change occurred in V8i SS3 - (2012).
In MicroStation 2023, IntelliTrim still appears to be available through the Modify Tools toolbox.(not the Modify toolbox)

Hi Ron, that's interesting. It was also listed as removed in SS10 but it does still exist. From what I recall when I tried Connect, it wasn't able to be selected from within the customize dialog. I'm glad if it has been brought back, I don't think tools should ever be removed tbh (unless broken), I'd prefer it if they keep the existing functionality there and let users decide for themselves which they want to use, whether that's Trim Multiple or IntelliTrim. Same goes for other tools that are key to users daily workflows.
I was never able to get that tool to work as shown above.
But now its working, GREAT
