I don't think it is too much to ask but can Bentley really look at the detailing functions. Trying to detail is very frustrating & costing us precious time and energy. See attached files and screen dump, seems all that to dimension a diameter is very limited The normal diameter tools do not work & you must use element dimensioning which only allows you to do a diameter with the arrows inside the circle, NOT VERY BLOODY PRACTICLE AHY.
Would like to do a diameter like the radius but we have to manually edit each dimension dame thing used to work wonderfully in XM why did it have to change.
seems once again we have a half baked solution.
Yes a work around is possible but then it is just another work around. Have tried the absolute latest release 08.11.07.171 still not working, as per original example example. I just cannot believe this; it is astounding that any decent draftsman or design engineer would put up with this. How can anybody get anything made if you cannot detail it properly, unfortunately it looks like I will have to bow to the pressure from above and start the migration to Solidworks Bentley have so far shown no desire or commitment to the real mechanical world and I cannot resist any longer. Pity after using Microstation since 1987 it had so much promise back then, hope the person who broke it is happy.
I turned off the TRUE HIDDEN LINE rendering on the dwg & was then able to use the radial dimensioning tools. Once dimensioned you can then turn the rendering back on...
Microstation SS3 08.11.09.714
ProStructures V8i SS8 v8.11.14.238
I'm not going to be much help here, but it seems that the Diameter and Radius tools don't work on "features". Open his .dgn and it's easy to see. He is detailing 'features' that are referenced into a sheet model. I think that is what Wiggo is experiencing.
Kind Regards,
Scott
