Isn't font 7 the one that is both shorter and narrower than the actual TH and TW settings?
You might be able to use a normal TTF and create a style that indicates one size in its name, but is actually reduced.
TTF's sem to work differently than RSC fonts so it may be impossible to create a "small" font.

Have you tried letting V8i create a TTF of font7 and then copying that to the fonts folder? I know that early TTF's looked terrible in Excel or Word, but more recent versions create conversions that are actually pretty nice.
I'm sure Bentley might tell you not to, but since when do end users listen to vendors?
What's really funny is now, we have RSC fonts created from SHX or TTF's and when you use them in V8i Select Series 1, it rights out a TTF version of those fonts. And since many SHX fonts were also created into TTF's by Autodesk, we now have three versions of many of these fonts.
I had thought about doing that but everything I read told me it wouldn't look right.
I ended up finding a good replacement, though. It's called Castellar if anyone else needs it.
Just out of curiousity,
I'm still hesitating to allow "Windows-Fonts" to be used in MicroStation. Reason: Whenever a DGN is exchanged with other companies or PC's that don't have the same fonts installed, there's a higher risk that font appearance changes whenever a font is missing.
Using 1 standardized font_companyname.rsc included in a project minimizes that risk, so I prefer it that way.
How do you guys handle that? Is there a thread discussing this already? (Dont want to hijack this one)
