I brought up the problem of using these fonts when sending a CADD file to a customer. They were so focused on the appearance that they decided to go with the castellar one... which is not a standard MS delivered font. They're solution was to burn the font to the DVD as well and let them install it.
It's not the way I would do it... but they're the bosses and they sign my paycheck.

If a company logo uses a proprietary font, make a cell from it after dropping the text to lines and linestrings, adding fill by flood if necessary.
We did that for graphics in Microsoft office prodects so PowerPoint, Word and Excel did not need to share fonts either. Created EMF files with MicroStation.
