Where is your User Preference File stored? If the UPF resides on the server, it will cause this behavior. Keep UPF on the local system.

Well I have been able to test this on a machine without InRoads installed. I installed Microstation and tried using the keyboard commands to invoke the text tools and I still had the "lag".

We are not able to reproduce this problem at our end.

could you please try it on plain MicroStation with delivered workspace and no vertical or add on application?

Let us know if the problem persists.

If you could not able to reproduce then it can be something related to vertical application.

The problem you mentioned is not reproducible at our end. Could you please tells us,

1. Which OS you are using?

2. Which release version of InRoads you are using?

This happens constantly to me but only if I use the keyboard. I never had an issue clicking the icon. Hopefully someone has a fix.

Maybe it has something to do with InRoads being installed?????

It happens for me even if I click the tool icon. It only occurs on the first instance, though. Anytime after the first that I activate the place text command it opens instantly.
