DDD: something old, something new

Having noticed my old BE blog post on DDD is inaccessible, and there are still regular enquiries, I'm gonna re-link from here:

Here are the Guidelines in PDF format

Here are all the videos (updated this link to point it to the correct location)

Here are some DGN examples

NEW the above last link also includes a book of DDD examples I developed for Railway Alignment Protoyping (plus a few othe bits 'n' pieces), there are several hundred hours work in there (plus another few hundred I had to remove before posting publicly), so please don't expect them to be 'suitable for beginners' - they really are only for anyone with a deep interest. In fact they could use a half hour's video just going through basic usage and combination. Having said that, if anyone is interested enough to dive in, please feel free to contact me with questions or comments.

There are 21 models (many with sub-solutions and variations) plus a Help Model which explain the basic mechanics of usage and Design Process.

Included are:

  • Single & Twin Track Left / Right Plain Curves
  • Single & Twin Track Left / Right 'Parallel' Plain Curves
  • Single & Twin Track Inter-Axis Widening Solutions of Left / Right and Left & Right
  • Twin Track Reverse Curves
  • Twin Track Compound Curves
  • Twin Track Ovoid Curves
  • Various R25 & R50 Turnouts / Crossover placement tools
  • Some Cross-Section (Widening) Examples
  • A Non-Slip Diamond Simulation
