Text skewed when dimensioning

I am trying to dimension a 3D widget, referenced into a sheet as a isometric view.  The text size becomes skewed depending on the angle from the widget that I am pulling the dimension.  I want my text size to remain same no matter what direction the dimension must be located.

I have tried several ways to correct this but have been unsucessful.  The image below shows what I am talking about.  Any sugestions or comments?

  • Did you try setting the Alignment of the dimension to Arbittrary?

  • Yes.

I have tried ARBITARY and TRUE.  In either case the text gets skewed.

  • Is your sheet 3D or 2D?

If you make your sheet 2D can you dimension is in the sheet?

When I use TRUE, ARBITRARY or DRAWING Iget these results in a 3D file:

Check the setting on the TEXT tab. Go down to Format and see if Orientation is set to Horizontal or Aligned. It should be set to Aligned for your desired result.

  • My sheet is 3D.

I created a 2D sheet, inserted a ISOMETRIC reference and then retried dimensioning.

The text size now remains fixed to my settings, but the dimensions are now shortened from actual size.

i.e. i have a cube that is 5"x5"x5", but the dimension shows 4.082".  The image below shows this.  The 5" dimensions shown are actual dimension created within the 3D model.  The 4.082" dimensions are what is created from the 2D Sheet.  When I repeat the same process using a 3D sheet, the dimensions shows the correct size (5"), but the text is skewed (like it is when I dimensioned within the 3D model).

So... my problem remains. Actually it is now two-fold.

If I dimension in a 3D Sheet, then my text is skewed.  If I dimension in a 2D Sheet, then my dimensions are not TRUE.
