V8i SS2:
I am trying to create a text style without justification so that text can be placed at left, right or center justified without creating several text styles. There is an option under the Text Styles > Advanced tab for justification: None, but this seems to have no impact on justification under the Main tab Justification window.
The problem arises when I attempt to change ONLY the style of text, the justification changes to whatever is shown in the justification window.
Is there a way to create a text style without justification? Btw: I’ve tried Style: None, but it still takes on a justification.
TIA
Bill
Hi,
When you change the style of your text, do you need to change the style, or just individual attributes of the style? Perhap you can check which attributes you want to change without changing the style.

The problem with the way styles run at the moment is that any justification change then changes the style. I'm all for justification independent styles. Bit fed up with a style for each text justification required.
JMO.
I think it would be best if Styles could be applied in an additive condition. If Styles could have sections left undefined, then this would allow different Styles to apply groups of settings.
I know that individual aspects of text can be changed independently. What I'm concerned with is inadvertently changing the justification on multiple pieces of text when changing or updating a text style.
It seems silly to me that when we use text that has standard font, size and line spacing that is often placed at left and center and occasionally right justified on numerous drawings, that I have to use an entirely different text style for each occasion to be safe.
Again, does anyone have a clue asto why there is an option for Justification:None that doesn't seem to work?
