Hi,
I would like to suggest some new features conserning linestyles.
1. Choosing an active linestyle: A build in filter to choose the Active linestyle by resource (.rsc file). Filtering on the resourse-file would reduce the multiple linestyles and therefore narrowing down the custom linestyles. In that case several .rsc files can be in the symb-dir and remain there for customising.
2. Element > Linestyle > Custom: here also a filter by resource (.rsc file) to narrowing down.
3. Line Style Editor > import linestyles (.LIN or LRSC). It would be nice to pick a selection based on 'symbology preview' rather than on linestyle name. Names are mostly coded names and don't tell anything about the look of the linestyle.
Possible or not possible? Or to take in consideration.
What is the opinion of the community?

The rsc files are outdated and the line style editor probably will be re-made from scratch if ever. You can read about Bentley comments by searching keyword "linestyle editor". It won't happen soon nor service tickets can speed it as only 1% of users ever use linestyle editor so the priority is very low.

Maybe that's because the editor was/is rather clumsy and not that easy to work with to begin with.
If you key in LC= and part of a line style name, it will open a dialog box of those names that contain the string entered and you can then select one and press enter.
When I was at the DOT, we added each departments Acronym to their line style names, so to list only the Plats & Survey Line styles, you could key in LC=P&S.
However, when they migrated to V8, no one asked why we did that and it was removed from all of the names when they created their new V8 standards.
