I sometimes scale down a drawing with details and dimensions (to be able to fit more details on a drawsing), then the dimension arrow heads scale down too. While in other drawings when I scale down the arrow heads remain the same size as before scaling down. So if I select some details that include dimension lines, and scale it down in half, the details are half the size, but the dimensions arrow heads are the same as bofore. What setting in dimensioning styles controls this aspect? Thanks.
The Arrowheads are scalled according to the Text Size of the Dimension Text. (i.e. if the Text Height & Width is 2, the arrowhead is a portion of that) (in example Width 1 x 2 = 2.0 & Height 0.4 x 2 = 0.8). Check the "Geometry" tab in the "Dimension Styles" dialog (Element > Dimension Styles)
I Hope this Helps!
If the Arrowheads do not scale down/up with changes to Text Size, verify that the graphic elements are a Dimension. Dimensions can be dropped into individual elements that are linked together as a Graphic Group.
In that situation the elements will all act as individule elements and the Arrowheads will not react to a change in the Text Size.
I am aware that this is where you set the terminator size, so if the size is set to 1 by 0.4, when I scale my drawing down by half, the details should be half the size, but the terminator arrows should stay the same size. But in some of my drawings the arrows will change to half the size (0.5 by 0.2). How do I prevent that from happening?
that is not the case, if I have time next week, I will post my drawing as example. tx
Here is a sample drawing, where I scaled some detail and dimension in half. Notice some arrows stayed full size, others are half the size. I used the scale icon command.
