Is there a way to create a quick blow up detail using the "Place detail callout". Instead of placing the detail callout symbol
See jpg
Kirk,
I used to have a macro I made that did the following you could do it yourself pretty easy really
1. set the active scale 2x
2. place circle by centre and edge on specific level and attribute ie red dashed etc
3 . place clip fence by element ( circle we just drew )
4. copy from fence & scale by data point for the selection of the fence then data point for placement
This is very quick and dirty as it will not update itself as no references are used..
If however you want to do it old school I use create saved view then self ref with keyin rf=.
and attach the saved view at the scale I want and use the clip ref by element using a circle as the boundary
....
I'd like to see if I could come up with a keyin or macro to launch create the saved view by 2 points ( SS2 has the 2 points save view option)... I'll let you know if I get it workin or you let me knwo if you get it working ok?

here is a quick and dirty keyin script you can add to a Function key
e,lock fence clip;e,place fence element;%d;e,fence copy;%d
it brings up the full fence copy dialog so you can choose scale copy and pick the scale
works even better than it did in v8...
Thank Lorys. I "ll give this a shot. I'm going to try taking what you provided and use the self ref tool since I place all my drawings in the design file and then reference that to a sheet file with nested refrence on

I Wish Cadland was Reality
You know Autocad can do this so Bentley needs to get this option working. I hate it when autodesk has a better tool then Microstation
Here is my dirty solution
The 1st part self reference the file and clips with a data point
lv=anno-dtl;$ reference attach $(_DGNFILE);place circle center;%d;%d;reference clip boundary (data point to complete clip)
Then I move the reference and scale manually ( need a keyin for reference scale)
The next line below draws the detail circle
lv=anno-dtl;place circle center;%d;%d;place smartline;xy=#,#;%d;%d;place circle diameter;xy=#,#
Now I just have to learn vba or basic and get this all in one command
