I'm trying to create a dimension as shown in the picture on the right below, without the dimension line. The dimension line disappears when the text is placed vertically in line with the dimension, but shows up when moved to the left or right at all. I have the 'Join When Text Outside' box checked off under Extension Lines, but it still draws it in. Is there a way to do this without dropping the element?
I think the setting was outside reversed?

Thanks for the reply Lorys. I have the terminator set to Outside. The Reversed setting seems to be basically the same as Outside except that it keeps the dimension line drawn in even when the text is inline vertically. There is no outside reversed setting that I can find. I think I'll probably just change our dimensioning standard to match what MicroStation will do.
ok I have manged to do what you want about 97% I just cant get the bent in line leader..
I have recorded video of this is for you at ... please look at it .. took me about an hour to figure out and then record video to upload .. it is at

please take a look at the setting I have shown and the steps.. once your happy then save it as a named dim style like OutRev or similar so you dont have to go through changing the settings to get it to work... dont forget to copy the style into a dgnlib or your seed file so you can always call it up..
Happy to help out...
The setting outside reversed was for v2004
Thanks Lorys. This should be close enough for what I need to do.
