Hi, I have a simple problem which I can't get solved.
In general we are drawing in mm, so main units setting is mm. Some text fields (the "f(x)-tool" in the texteditor) should display the figures in meter. For instance:
An architectural plan with measurements in mm, showing some heights or area in meter. So in the textfield property box, units areset from "sctive units" to "meter".
After changing the depending geometry, the figure will be updated. The problem is: It then jumps back to "mm". All most all of the plans have now entirely "mm" (active unit) shown in field where it was "meter" before.
Can some one help? Is there any configuration variable for textfields?
thanks in advance, nico
I'm not able to duplicate this. My working units are mm. The master unit format in the Fields Editor is set to m.
After changing the shape geometry, the field updates and the master units in the Field Editor stays as m.
What 8 digit version of MicroStation are you using? See Help > About.
Edited to Add: I'm using out-of-the-box version of MicroStation SS3.
Hi Inga,
we are using V8i SS2 (8.11.07.446).
best regards, nico
I revisited your complaint and it appears that you are correct. MicroStation is not remembering the settings in the Field Editor between design sessions. Likewise, it appears that it is not storing these settings with the design file.
I'm not aware of a configuration variable or settings to modify this behaviour.
I have filed this as TR 346249. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Dear Inga,
thank you very much in looking into this. There is one oint which makes me curious.
We have made cells unsing these textfields in beginning of 2011. Until our last submission in march 2012 they worked fine. I mean we have worked alot with them and the drawings. It was never an issue.
So this problem is new and might have come with an update. Was there recently any update of microstation? I dodn't follow the versions, since I'm not from the IT...
Best regards,
nico
