As I prepare lessons for migrating from V8 2004 to v8i I am noticing changes, which is understandable, but did some of the tools or toolboxes just go away?
I will start with dimensioning and see where it gets me.
In 2004 (image above) I have a Linear Dimensions toolbox where the keyin is "dimension element". This tool allowed me to dimension an arc length or delta plus others. I had custom buttons that would allow to me change from length to degrees with the click of the button but I cannot find this button in v8i (image below). The Linear Dimensions in v8i does not have this option anymore. The only thing v8i will do is give me a radius which not very useful. Am I missing a toolbox, does it have another name?

Your tool box for dimensioning in v8i looks different than mine. I have a lot of fly-out boxes. What version of v8i are you using?
You can switch between angle and length if you click the little magnifying glass beside the dimension style in your settings box. Go to the units tab and under Angle Format switch it from angle to length.

You would need to re-create this in v8i. There may be a way to import this but I'm not sure if that is possible.

For lines lenth the tool is in Element Dimension tool (its pity that it does not dimension arc or curve/Bspline too)
Or the tool for measuring Angle/Distance/Length/Area/Volume doesn´t have tickle to write it to file (for area and length it would be enough)
(Once its displayed in a commmand line it could be written to file as text in a same operation)
