Hi,
I'm having difficulty using the Key-In function to open and draw from text files. I set a function key (ctrl+F9) to "@C:\CAD\KeyIn.txt" and it was working properly a few days ago. I decided to change the directory to my working folder (still on the C: drive) and moved the text file accordingly. Now, whenever I use the Key-In function I get "Unknown key-in or command." I've even tried reverting back to what worked previously but no luck. Has anyone encountered or heard of this issue before? I am currently using 2004 V8. I remember running into this issue when I first started using Key-In commands but unfortunately I do not know how it was (seemingly magically) resolved.
Thanks

What is the full path to that file in the new folder?

Jon may be on to the issue. If the folder you moved the script file to has a space in it, that is likely the culprit -- that is a known issue.
It was "@C:\Users\me\Desktop\Test\KeyIn.txt" but I've since changed it back to "@C:\CAD\KeyIn.txt" since it was not working.
I've heard that spaces tend to cause errors too. I omitted all spaces but unfortunately I still have issues.
I have had problems using any path to a script file for a number of versions. As I recall, I was only able to make it work when the working folder was the same as the script file location. And I believe I also discovered that the working file was not the folder specified in the shortcut, but actually changed if you use a dialog box in MicroStation to browse to a file - with true Windows style dialog boxes.
Testing the working folder is as simple as typing ! at the key-in browser. The DOS window will open to the current working folder.
