Linestyle(s) in nested reference file appears as linestyle "0". This occurs even though in the actual file the linestyle is defined as a custom linestyle. The currently is occurring in one attachment only and problem is seen only when the custome linestyle is assigned to a level(bylevel). The problem occurs in both the parent file and the master file that the parent file is attached are opened read-only.
To verify that issue is file specific. Attach the same problematic reference file in the parent file again to see if the same problem is manifested.
check for level overrides on the line style or just change level overrides on off in the view control
through Control B to see if it is a level override problem to help narrow it down...

Does the Line Style display Red in the Level Manager, Level settings. It could be it can't find that particular Custom Line Style then M-Sta will display it as a solid line (0).
Bring up the Line Styles dialog (Element > Line Style > Custom). Look for the Line Style in the dialog. If it is not listed M-Sta can't find it. If it displays, where the definition is coming from (look just above the preview in the Line Styles dialog.

Hi all,
Just wanted to personally follow up on this issue since Regie posted this on my behalf..
Based on the replies, I would like to recap the details I am having with this issue:
- Problem only occurs when file is opened read-only.
- Problem only occurs in reference file. Appears to be just one file (that I know of). Linestyles display correctly when subject file is opened directly.
- Only affects elements that are assigned a linestyle (ByLevel). Elements that are directly assigned a linestyle display correctly.
- Level Manager displays linestyles as they appear in file (ByLevel view). Some appear as "0", some appear as the linestyle that was assigned to some Levels. Only certain levels are affected, not all. None are displayed in "red".
- Level libraries are not being used for this workspace.
- Attaching the same problematic file again to the parent file appears to work (display) correctly.
I will update this thread if I find a solution to this...
Thanks,
- Ray
