Purchased a new GTCO CalComp DrawingBoard VI digitizer to be used with MicroStation V8i SS2 and Windows7. We have limited success with it working. For example, we have been able to attach matrix menus, but not a command menu. We are also having trouble configuring the 4-button puck - it accepts the changes, but does not keep them.
We installed wintab.exe.
Can you tell me if the following digitizer is compatible with MicroStation V8i and Windows 7:
GTCO Calcomp DrawingBoard VI, 12" x 18", Model DB6 1218
The GTCO CalComp Drawing Board VI (Model: DB6-1218) is compatible with Windows 7 according to GTCO Calcomp's Brochure.
MicroStation SS2 is compatible with Windows 7 and CalComp DrawingBoards.
Did you install any drivers other than wintab.exe?
"Tablet Driver Troublehooting
The vast majority of problems reported with this driver are actually machine specific configuration errors. You must insure that no other software is using the serial port that you want to use with the digitizer. You must disable other applications such as FAX drivers, other WINTAB drivers, dial-up+ networking, serial mouse drivers, and terminal emulators from accessing the serial port that is connected to the digitizer.
Conflicts Between the Tablet Driver and Other Software
To insure that no other software is using the serial ports, Stop and Startup any other tablet driver software in Control Panel. It is usually a device beginning with wt. Check that the Serial device status is Started and Automatic. Check that the Sermouse device status is Disabled, unless you have a serial mouse connected to any of the COM ports."

The command menu may appear not to work if the configuration contains overlapping.

Bentley Technical Support
Sometimes similar issues with digitizer can be resolved by uninstalling the Bentley Wintab driver from the Microstation Uninstall/Change dialog, leaving only the vendor supplied driver running on the machine (Calcomps should have a wintab compatible driver).

Can the GTCO Calcomp DrawingBoard VI, 36" x 48" digitizer on Windows 10 with Microstation v8i (SelectSeries 10) be made to work with any driver other than the Bentley wintab driver, for example GTCO's Tablet Works 11.1? Specifically, I need information on how to configure the TabletWorks driver or the Digitizer Technology driver. I was told by support that the Wintab.exe driver (32 bit) is incompatible with 64 bit operating systems. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

The Wintab.exe driver works fine with Windows 10.
I have an old Intergraph (Kurta) 18x12 tablet that I have working with both V8i and CONNECT in Windows 10.
We also have Calcomp Digitizers that work just as well in Windows 10.
Just try it and see if it works for you.

Thanks Michael, but I must be doing something wrong. When I run Wintab.exe I am able to select the Calcomp 9100, and the other parameters.
But after I click OK, it doesn't keep the settings. If I run Wintab.exe again it will show the original settings. eg.
If I then try to do Digitizer Partition or Digitizer Setup it tells me that these functions require a digitizer.
I put the .exe and .dll files in Program Files (x86)\Bentley\Microstation V8i (SELECTSeries)\Microstation
That is where it should be, right?
Any thoughts?
