Key-in for Text Justification Control

I saw a piece of an article, it referenced a text2 file, I could not find. I found the file plotdlg.ma what a really big help, once I worked through it. I was looking for a similar file on text key-in commands. I went to Ina, but the note claimed the list was no longer being kept up ?.

My problem many times when I open a drawing to edit the text will be left and I need center or right and I need left. I would like a way to just key-in what I want first and not go to paste the text and the justification is off. Any help from some of you really smart guys like Mr. Phil?

  • I am not sure exactly what your issue may be regarding. It sounds like you may be talking about a particular article on BE Community. Is it possible to provide a link to this article so we can see what it may be about.

    It sounds like your issue may be related to a problem with the justification of text. Maybe you could expand on this description so we can further investigate what may be your problem.

    Also, I am assuming your issue is regarding Microstation but which version of software are you using. This can be located under > Help > About Microstation.

    It is also quite useful to provide example design files or screen captures to help with the explanation of your issue.

  • Expand the Place Text tools settings.  (Little triangle lower right)  It will allow you to set your Justification there.

  • Not sure how to expand the Place Text, I opened as a tool box, but did not see any commands for Justification. I am attaching a pic of the command Box and a pic of the Key-in I tried, but it failed. Perhaps this will help more. Thank you for any assistance and answers.

     wanted to set this from a Key-in command? below is the command that did not work, I kept looking for Key-in commands under Text, or Justify or Justification. I wondered if there was an .ma that I needed to load to get the commands?

  • RJB,

    the key-in for Justification Left|Center|Right is actually for Enter Data Fields.

    the key-in for text justification is slightly more cryptic..

    .......ANSWER HERE:.....

    Active TNJ LT

    Explaination here...

    TNJ stands for Text Node Justificaiton and the LT (Left Top) can be substituted for any of the following

    LT, LC, LB, CT, CC, CB, RT, RC, RB

    L=Left             T=Top

    C=Center        C=Center

    R=Right          B=Bottoom

    this will also set your justification for Text or Text Node.

    there are 6 other justifications which now most everyone ignores, (LMT, LMC, LMB, RMT, RMC, RMB) in which the M stands for Margin, and was possibly useful back before V8 but now more advanced text editing abilities have made these almost obsolete.
