I have used MicroStation V8i SelectSeries1 and earlier versions before today. Today I have started using SS3 and I'm having some trouble.
I create most of my work as 3D models and produce 2D fabrication drawings as my output.
I use Attach Reference to bring a 3D model into my 2D sheet.
When using V8i Select Series 1, while the 2D image of the 3D model was in Display Style '(From Parent)' I would have the opportunity to display or not display levels from the original model using the Level Display tool from Settings. Then, by selecting 'True Hidden Line' as Display Style I would have options about whether or not to display hidden lines and if so using what line style and weight, and I could select the weight for Visible lines or outlines. Also I had some control over the quality of the presentation by making selections within 'Hidden Line Settings'. All this within True Hidden Line presentation. The attachment shows most of the bits of my story including an incomplete image of a machine in the background with a mixture of heavy continuous lines and thin hidden detail lines. I would also often have thin continuous lines as well.
SelectSeries 3, 08.11.09.459 doesn't offer a presentation called True Hidden Line. Can someone tell me how to produce a 2D image with these elements included, please.
Hi Philip,
Have a look at the the following on Cached Visible Edges which is new to MicroStation V8i SELECTseries 3. There was also another similar post to yours regarding True Hidden Line
Hope this helps.
Regards
Philip
Do you have 'synchronise' turned ON, when you reference the file in to the Sheet?

Solids will hide things below.
Make sure you do all this with the view setting in your model.
Make sure it is sync'd properly.
For a test ---- get is like you like it in your model as a saved view and reattach.
that way you know whether it is a sync issue or something else.
