Greetings-
I'm trying to use Cell Selector with MicroStation V8i SS3 (08.11.09.397).
I cannot get it to open; all it will ever do is open this dialog asking for a Cell selector file:
I do not have a CSF file but I would like to create one. My understanding is if there is no CSF in the directory specified by MS_CELLSELECTORDIR, or if it is undefined, Cell Selector will load the library attached to the current DGN (if in fact one is attached). I do have a library attached to the DGN.
Other things I have tried:
All of these attempts merely gave the dialog above; Cell Selector did not open.
In the dialog asking for a CSF, I have tried both the "Open" and the "Cancel" buttons. Clicking either does the same thing: nothing.
I have also tried setting the filter to files of types *.* (All Files) and then browsing to a cell library. When I do that, nothing happens.
Every attempt to get Cell Selector Open does not work for me. Other users at this site have this same issue; we have a mix of SS2 and SS3 install and either version exhibits this behavior. I have got to be missing something... I'm open to any suggestions.
Thanks!
Works that way for me.
You sure you don't have something set? Is it Just your PC? Could be something set/not set in your customized WorkSpace?
Is this set to a location (MS_CELLSELECTORDIR)?
Is this set to a location(MS_CELLOUT)? I'm thinking it may not be able to create that temporary "Untitled" csf
Both of my variables are set to the same location.
I Hope This Helps Someone Reading This! (Intergraph>PseudoStation>MicroStation user since 1980's)
MS_CELLSELECTOR is not defined in my .cfg file.
I have opened the cell lib that I want, then I select Utilities>Cell Selector and a window pops up asking for a .csf file.
It should just display the cell library in the cell selector window with pictured buttons. That is not appearing.
Just flat out not working.
Hi cswnow
If MS_CELLSELECTOR is undefined
Then if you attach the cell library to your file using the Element > Cells (Cell Library dialog)
You can then go to the Utilities > Cell Selector and M-Sta should display all the cells in the attached Cell Library in a temporary (Undefined) csf
If MS_CELLSELECTOR is defined to a FileName.csf it will not display the cell library attached to the file.
I am having the problem. You shouldn't have to use the variable MS_CELLSELECTOR if you do not have a .csf file.
By choosing Utilities>Cel Selector then choosing any .cel library a window should pop up showing buttons for the contents of the chosen cell library. The window does not pop up.
This is a problem that I can't seem to fix and am not getting any help.
Carl, thank you!
It turns out that MS_CELLSELECTOR was defined, but it pointed to a folder, not a file.
I'm guessing since the variable was defined and niot pointed at an actual file, it was asking for one.
Thanks again!
