This may be simple, but when I am using Microstaton Text Edit I found I could use overwrite or insert, but I am never sure if it is on insert or Overwrite. Is there something in Microstation that can be used to show that information. I did a search in two places and got "No Results" no real pictures to post on this. I am hoping someone will understand the question. Using the [Insert] key just above [Delete] key. each time you press it the text will change from overwrite/insert? Some programs have/had a box that showed the status/state of the key.
I find this is a keyboard setting in windows toggle the insert / deletekey on your keyboard and I dont think there is anything in mstn to tell you what mode its in .. you should log a Change request for a symbol to be on or off in the text editor perhaps.. but you already found out that...
there is probably a calculator function in memory thingy that you can run a vba to find out but its more trouble than its worth

If you have ever noticed if your in VBA and change state it becomes a black square for over-write, nothing for insert, that would be so hand for text edit or something in the corner somewhere to show you the state changed. I had a little shareware that had three led's worked ok, but would not want to put on company property. I had a keyboard wireless and no lights. This Program let you set how you wanted to know Numa, Caps, Ins.. pretty good
I do not know how to see the ins key with VBA or I would use the message m,ms " text to be displayed" it is great , Thanks always Lorys for the assistance. it is 3:40am I am going back to bed. :-)
