I then keyin LD=dims

this forces all dimensions to goto the level called dims

Now for my place line I make sure I use a dimstyle which has no text style or text defined in it by default but use the active text style to control text height equations ie size of arrow heads etc

then I activate the text style from my libs file and use that as the settings for the place note

I use bylevel for my level of dims and can use an a override at will...

sounds alot but only if you havent got text styles and dims styles preset in a dgnlib file..

Also I set the dims and text to always use annotation scale and I always set the drg scale in my model so that my defined text styles ( 1.8 , 2.5, 3.5, 5, BGFill1.8, BGFill 2.5 etc) are always available...

Make sure you havent got a level defined for text and dims differently ...

are you sure overrides is turned on ... try my keyin and see if it works for you now... make sure you make new level dims first...
