My 3D model is made no where close to 0,0,0 coordinate, which creates a problem when change view rotation. So If have a top view and change to a front view (in the same window), then my model is way off in space, and it takes a bit to find my model again and zoom back in. The same problem happens if I use "RV=-90" keyin command. I know why this happens, but don't know if there is a solution, that does not require moving my model close to 0,0,0. I have a partial solution by using dynamic rotate, I first press tentative snap somewhere on my model and then rotate. This way I end up with my model still in my view window. thanks
you could try the ISOLATE tool and then save this as a saved view. This should only show the data that is within the isolate window

What version of Microstation do you have? I don't have the ISOLATE tool, sounds interesting, what does it do? Is it like a display set?
Microstation select series 10 ver 08.11.09.919
also have
CONNECT Ed Update 17
Version 10.17.02.61
It is a Displayset!
Isolate is a simpler term/explanation of a Displayset
The term "Isolate" is on the Rt Click menu in V8i(Ss3) and IS a Displayset.
There is also an "Isolate Clear" which is the same as Displayset Clear.
If the Displayset filter for the view is not turned on Isolate will not work.
