one element in two levels

Hi

I have a water distribution system drawn in microstation where all the pipes have been classified by their sizes ( by several levels). my boss wants me to add another level to the drawing which indicates the content of pipes (rather than their sizes) but he wants this two levels be linked together so that every time they make a change on let say level 1 level 2 can automatically be updated accordingly ( without manually assigning the changes). is there such an option in Microstation. If anyone can help me I will be very grateful.

Thanks

  • Go back and add a linestyle  via overrides and give up on multilines ... just too many limitations this feature  was made originally in early version mstn for architechts to draw walls no curves no arcs .. really awful drawback only  changes since v5 for dos is can now have fills .. or were they always there and we didnt realise... The  internationally adopted linestyles for services  for all infra structure in english speaking countries  is the only way to change context  eg

    ----G---- is gas

    ----w--- is water

    ----S---- is sewer

if you want sizes then create  new line style ---Gx150D---

or put your level names for sizes and use ....line style for type use overrides and draw by level and you can update everything very easliy by change of level override lienstyle..

Send me or upload a typical clip of a representative area and I/ we will do it for you and you can just copy the settings... to see how easy it would be...

and we can stop all this to-ing an frowing and get you a good result and make you look like a mstn genius..
