    MicroStation SELECTseries 3 update 1 - 08.11.09.357 - posted 9/17/2012

    MicroStation SELECTseries 3 - 08.11.07.443 - posted 7/16/2010

    MicroStation SELECTseries 2 - 08.11.07.171 - posted 11/2/2009

    We could probably pull together a what's new list also if that helps.

    As I said, not a new version since 2009!!

    @Stuart

    Autodesk has over twice the employees and 4x the revenue.  They also have fewer products to maintain.

    That's Bentleys problem for spreading themselves thin.

    That said there does appears to be and disproportional amount of resources going to verticals.

    I agree. They seem to have moved focus away from the original MicroStation product. Not all of use the verticals, or want to for that matter.

    Autodesk can get a new version out every year

    They are also adept at getting a new file version out every year.  Older file versions are 'retired'.  New file versions require you to purchase the latest product release to maintain file compatibility.

    Why can't Bentley?

    As others have responded, there have been several version updates in recent years.  Would it appease you if they had been termed Release 2011, Release 2012, Release 2013, Release 2014 rather than assigned 8-digit version numbers?

  • Which will be released first, MicroStation x64 or AECOsim x64?

    It follows from the development logic: Because AECOsim BD is based on MicroStation engine, it cannot be released before MicroStation. It was told in this thread the expected release of the new AECOsim is about six months after the MicroStation release.

    Stuart, how did you define "new version"? It looks like you quite intentionally interpret the facts in a strange way. Every SELECTseries brought a bunch of new tools, features and enhancements, some from them pretty substantial (business items, point clouds, new mesh tools...). Not enough to be treated as a new version for you? ... may be because the main name has not changed, only its suffix? Or do you require to introduce a new (and not compatible in the best case) file format to accept it as the new version?
