Hi everyone,
Im new to microstation but slowly getting the hang of it. Ill be spending a lot of time changing the text font in the symbols from ISO3098B to Arial Narrow. Sounds simple but dont know how to make a quick macro. I tried to make a Basic Macro and record it but not very successfully. All I want is a macro that selects all text in the drawing and changes the font to Arial Narrow.
Im using MicroStation v8i (select series 2) - version 08.11.07.443
Appreciate any help in advance!
Thanks
Chris
You don't need a macro.
All you need to do is select all your text using the selection tool ste to text.
Then open the text properties dialog and untick everything except the font.
Now change the font to the one you need and accept, and all the text will change to the new font.
Simple.
Yes that'd be great for just one symbol i have to change but theres hundreds of these symbols that ill be doing this to. I wanted to be able to open up the symbol. Press the macro to change text then go to the next symbol. Would save a lot of time.
Then you have not described fully what you like!
You asked :

And MickyKom gave you the correct answer!
What is the term "symbol" for you?

Edit > Select by Attributes
Select a Symbol
Tools> Set Select By from Element
Modify search criteria as needed
press Execute all will be selected
pick the Change Text Attributes command
set desired changes
Data somewhere on the screen.
Yet another macro-free solution is Text Styles. If relevant text is assigned a text style, you can subsequently modify that text style and have all text assigned that style update automatically when you redefine the style.
