With V8 you could remove Enter Data Fields by editing text and removing the << >> surrounding the text. How do you manually convert an EDF to normal text in V8i? Can it be done?

I've come across this issue myself in v8i and was wondering if there was a way to drop the data field to standard text.

Thanks.

there is / was a vba macro that bentley select support built for someone... that just drops all of them in a selection set / fence to plain text...

if Bentley Select Support cant find it for you or no-one posts one email me offline and I see if I can find a copy in the archives........

alternatively post your request in the programming vba section and ask if anyone could make a macro that turns enter data fields to plain text... or give you advice on how to do it yourself...

This is a manual way of doing it... If you edit the text, then double click on the Enter Data Field, that allows you to edit the text. Once in there you could copy the text, exit out of the Enter Data Field box, and then paste the text back into the text editor box.

Another option is to change your text editor preference to "Dialog Box" and then you have the old editor. (Years ago, I had some issues with this old box, so I don't know if they have been fixed or not, so I don't suggest this as a permanent fix.)
