Is there is anyway to read the original coordinates from attached models into a layout sheet? That option will enable us to do complete drawing annotations in LAYOUT instead of having a hybrid of annotations in the model+layout. This will improve the drawing quality and be more productive. Hopefully someone has a method now to do it.. I'll greatly appreciate it if you can share. Otherwise, it may be a good thing to improve for the future. thanks in advance.
You need to place, scale and rotate your "sheet" over your model. This is one thing that is easily done in MicroStation that can not be done in AutoCAD. AutoCAD limits rotation to landscape or portrait.
Historically from what I've seen MS users typically use the method of scale and fit the sheet over model while AutoCAD users typically move and scale the model to fit the sheet.
The advantage of moving and scaling the sheet is everything will measure correctly and coordinates space is coincident.

That is no true. There is no limits in autocad.
Unless they have changed it recently paper space it either landscape or portrait. How do you rotate paperspace say thirty degrees?
Why to rotate paperspace? You rotate the viewports in any angle you want. and you can keep viewport aligned to the paper even if you rotate it.
This whole discussion was about reading world coordinates from a sheet model. If you bring the sheet to the model, you have to rotate the view, not the viewport (xref to the model).
This is where you can't have a 1 to 1 discussion of AutoCAD vs MicroStation. While referencing in the model into the sheet is the equivalent to having a viewport in paperspace, and "Activating" that reference file in MicroStation is similar to switching to modelspace while in a layout, it is far from identical.
But making the statement that AutoCAD has no limitations - on these forums, that's just asking for trouble.
If we want to continue this discussion, we should start a new thread.

please start a new thread "why my cads better than autocad" as I need more ammo for the acad lubbers at work in language they can understand, no more than 2 syllables please.

Lorys, I know your pain. I've been fighting that battle for 25 years and am now at the point that I am loosing. Logic does not seem to prevail any longer.

"Better" is a relative term. It has different parameters for different people. What is best solution for one person not necessarily best for for another person or company.
Unless you specificly define those parameters and everybody agree as them it is pointless to debate it.
